How Long Here is an iOS application that automatically detects when you arrive at and leave locations, providing:

  • A live timer showing how long you've been at your current location
  • A history of visited places organized by day
  • Visit details including address, map view, arrival time, and duration
  • Home screen widgets displaying your current visit

3. Location Services

The App requires access to your device's location services to function. By using the App, you acknowledge that:

  • The App uses iOS CLVisit monitoring and significant location changes to detect visits
  • "Always Allow" location permission is recommended for the best experience
  • Location data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted externally
  • Visit detection timing depends on iOS system behavior and may not be instantaneous

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or hack the App
  • Not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Not use the App to track the location of others without their consent

5. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Key points:

  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • No account or registration is required
  • No data is transmitted to our servers or any third parties
  • Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all stored data

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy of location detection or visit timing
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy of reverse-geocoded addresses

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of data, use, or goodwill
  • Inaccurate location detection or visit timing
  • Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App

8. Intellectual Property

How Long Here and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. This will permanently delete all locally stored visit data.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
